Ponies are the foundation for many beginners decision to continue riding or not riding in the future. They can teach them confidence, perseverance, respect, hard work, relationship or it can do the opposite. It's important to give them the tools and education to gain confidence and it starts with something as simple as leading from one place to the next and a halter that keeps the pony respectful.
